| Hello everyone! Im guessing most of you now looked up this thread due to that rather grim guild message on wow. What it says is true tho, the time for me to leave this game for good has come upon me. I havent played any wow during the summer, and to be quite honest, i dont miss it one bit. So, as for me quitting, thats a done deal. However, i do still have this love child of mine with this game, which is more known as the guild Noctem. Its been in existance for soon 5 years now, actually one of the oldest guilds on this server, along side Aftermath (who's still leading with quite a bit tho). Anyways, i do owe each and every one of you more than to just quit the game and not make a sound. So im going to give everyone of you a chance to take the torch as guildmaster and lead the guild onwards for those who like. I know there is many who have sought to go look for excitement elsewhere than our guild due to our lack of acticity during the summer. I also know that we still have with us some of our core members. And im guessing that it is these im pointing this post towards. Anyone can chose to become the next guildmaster and lead the guild onwards - i wont set any standards for whom - but i want this someone to be in touch with what our core values have been. To have casual social fun, exploring and thriving in all aspects of the game, being considerate and thoughtfull of each and everyones different needs when it comes to priorities. Always having an understanding that real life goes above any game related issue. Now, if it ends up with no one wanting to take the rudder of this boat, i will on the 15th of august, disband this guild. Why? Because i want that this guild shall perrish with its dignity still strong and alive, that people shall remember the guild for what it was while it was active - a guild filled with mature, kind and helpfull people who didnt take this game too seriously, yet were to some extent, very good at what we were doing. I really dont want this guild to end up like so many guilds i know that once were great or respected, and now reduced to "ghost-guilds" or where the leadership changes for each week and ending up being an identity-lost guild where all from nice people to utter scumbags wear or tag. If no one takes over the guild with the intent to driving it on based on our values, the guild shall perrish together with my wow account. Now, to each and every one of you - i will be popping on to this website and game every now and then to see for any updates. However i will be quitting this game now. My account ends at the 16th of August, and if the guild goes sleep then, i will make the appropriate post on wow forums, reccomending everyone who used our guildtag to everyone. This to ease your access to whatever guilds you might seek to apply to. To finish off this post, i'd like to say that this guild really has been the only thing that has given me meaning to all the time spendt in-game. To all those who have been part of us, to all of those who still is, and all of those who just joined us - thank you very much for enriching my wow experience with your friendship, humor, discussions and passion for this guild. Without you, this guild would just be another tag beneath our names with no meaning to it. It is you who have made our guild reknown for being "nice guys" and a good group of people to hang out with. It is you who have made our names hated by those we PvP against in battlegrounds. For all the fun times, for all the high times, i thank you all for what you've given me. So, have fun and be happy for the time that remains - and if someone of you feel that you would like this chance to rise and breathe new life into this old guild, please let me know. Till then, see you around

| I have been playing wow for less then a year and have joined you all only a few months ago. I have been in a couple of other guilds before that, but can honestly say that the time spent in Noctem was by far the most enjoyable. From my first steps into the world of raiding and premade BGs, to clearing the blood wing and then bashing our heads on Sindragosa, it was all new and incredibly fun for me. I have later downed the LK in pugs, but of course the atmosphere was not anywhere near to that of our raids. Thanks for letting me be a part of Noctem, I only wish it would have lasted longer! Chris, should you ever catch the wow bug again and decide to reconvene the guild, be sure to let me know!
Carpe noctem everyone, Earthweaver

| Well its been a long journey from rerolling that little baby warlock all that time ago and meeting Zans baby mage in the Belf starting area to the raids, the BG's . the good times and the dramas. Noctem has really made my wow experience something far better than it ever was on alliance and has been a good home to me for a very long time now, i do feel that we have lost a lot of core members and personaly im gonna move on this time, thinking of applying to Northrend Exposue or ofc the BULLIES . tho last time i took on GM'ship for a while i think this time its time to walk and give our beloved guild a proper viking burial .. burn baby oooh yeah !! maybe a last visit to Stormwind with as many of our members / old members as we can gather and make that final charge ! Lastly its been an honour to wear the Noctem guild tag and its been a pleasure to have got to know each and every one of ya, you have all enriched my wow experience and given meaning to in game freindships, Chris .. hope to see ya online b4 you go m8 | |

| I knew this day would come someday - yet, I'm shocked. Noctem was the very first guild I ever joined. Remember the good old Naxxramas days, those were the best. Had so much fun in it, even though we didn't clear that much at a time. To be honest, I couldn't care less for the loot. I remember gazing at people with 2-3k dps and thinking it was just insane! Dreaming about reaching Vingard's dps - I miss him = /.
I won't forget the fun we had in arena, ever. We strived towards higher ratings with all our effort while having fun - learning from mistakes and making improvements with an inferior 2v2 setup. It was my first step into the arena and I will never forget it. It brought me to where I am today in PvP (and I still have a long way to go).
I can't blame you for quitting, I've been thinking about the same. Though I've come to the conclusion to try out Cataclysm - too curious about how the new PvP will be. Rated Bgs... looking forward to it already! I'll probably try to have a serious go at pvp.
You seem determined and pretty serious about quitting wow this time - but do me the favor of not deleting your characters when you leave. I'd love to see you stop by someday in the future.
Let's hope that the 16th of august never comes ^^
Sincerely yours, Doru

| I have alot of real life friends in the guild "Ferus" - which is a very goofy and not so-serious-raid-social-type of guild. If your interested in an enviorment that has good raiding which at the same time is bit laid back and fun, i'd try to apply there. However, Noctem was in many ways "one-of-a kind-" so dont have your expectations too high of something that is -as- casual and laid back as we were In any case, just noticed that someone has set a new guild message about the guild -not- disbanding, but forgot to set a name to that post. So im hoping that someone will come in here and let me know who it is | |

| Got to hear about this news today and the first thing i did, was logging online and look for you people. it would feel strange, not to be in this guild anymore. i talked with El a bit. and what i really hope. is that someones alt, could just be the gm of noctem. so that noctem will still live on.
Maybe it wont live on as it has been before. i havent been in noctem the full 5 years, but i know what kind of special feeling noctem gives. some kind of save feeling. If we keep noctem alive, it would mean alot to me. even if its only to just have the social part of the guild.
Its a good chance we lost alot of people, or will loose more people. but it would be nice to just log in, press "O", go to "guild" and see some of you online. and just have random and deep talks.
if this idea sounds like crazy and you guys dont want it to go like that, i can understand it. Because i did read a couple of times that we should end this guild now, when its still a strong guild. i hope, and i really do, that we can just leave noctem for those who dont want to leave this wonderful part of wow.
If noctem cant go on, i hope we can have a talk together, about making a small little guild. for me it would be fine if its just like 5 people in it even. i know that lots of people did leave wow or the guild. but i still hope to be in the guild (noctem or a new one) with some of you. my younger brother probably wants to stay. and zan! you have to be there!
most important thing for me with wow, is that i hope to stay in touch with most of you. with noctem.
for those that left the game or guild, i hope you find what you are looking for and that everything will go great.
about my joining with noctem. im so so glad i made the choise to join noctem. i would make that choise every day if i had to. thank you for the great talks and great fun that we had. while raiding, and while pvping.
a moment that i like to think about is when we were standing on some bridge(dont know the name of the place). with a good group of us. on our way to some ally pounding. everywhere we went, it was ours. our territory, Noctems territory. later we were fighting at the gates of storm wind. we didnt had alot of people compared to all those humans, night elfs, dwarfes, gnomes, dreanei and what else that was behind the gate. but we were standing there. we went on fighting. protecting each others back. and we lasted for long, really long without dying. we showed them once more who we are.
For everything you showed me. For everything you did let me be a part of.
Thank you Noctem. | |

| right , first up as people have probably noticed i left Noctem with El and Skuzz , joined Northrend Exposure for a spot of 25 man kingslaying , Nonetheless i do have alts in guild and freinds in guild who do NOT want a disband , its just a small social guild so with that in mind i wil take it on with an alt until someone else wants to take over ... cant see the point in making our social members homeless so for the time being im happy to take the mantle of GM on Gratefull or Rigga for the meantime , Chris .. probably see ya back in Cata / winter . | |

| Right, that was just in the nick of time if i may say so Anyways, im happy to hear that you will be keeping the guild up for social reasons, that is after all our main thing with the guild anyways. I am however still bit worried that the guild will become a ghost town of alts, but i'll give it the benefit of the doubt. I am quite determied about quitting wow, but i cant ofc say that its impossible that i'll come back. I am anyways for the time being in a serious need for a laarge kind of wow break. Im utterly fed up by the game and how things have been developing, i also need to focus more on my studies not to say my more healthy part of a social life. I have endulged myself in warhammer minitatures once again and it actually seems i'll be able to paint and glue together an respectable army for once, instead of it being a years on end project that never really happens. If i ever come back, it will probably be a while after Cata release or something. By the looks of things i doubt it, i dont really like too much of what they say they are going to do, but i dont know till people try it. The one thing that -might- get me interested again is the new PvP stuff, some of that looks interesting, but i suspect it will be the "arena" thing all over again, just on a large scale. But as said, we'll see. Well, all in all, good news people - Guild disbandment is adverted | |

| Nah, its fine - Zan has the leadership for now, but she's able to pass it on to El's alt whenever she feels like it. For now the social part and BG part of Noctem still is very much alive Btw Arte, i think you have an account to the website | |
